How to Remove the PCM Module
- To remove the PCM Module (Powertrain Control Module) on Ford E350 Van, you first need to disconnect the negative battery wire
- Make the sensor wiring that connects to the PCM Module loosen (12A581), and also loosen the PCM connector retainer bolt
- Separate Engine Control sensor wiring connector from PCM Module and loosen PCM bracket support screw
- Remove PCM bracket support and PCM Module.
How to Install the PCM Module
To install, reverse the removal procedure: tighten PCM Module retainer screw to 3-4 Nm (24-32 in-lb). Then tighten the connector retainer bolt to 4 Nm (32 in-lb). Please note that after disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, some unusual drive symptoms may happen while the PCM Module goes through relearning. The car may need to be driven 10+ miles to completely relearn itself.
