The sticker contains various numbers, but the 4-digit number is not relevant for these modules. What matters more is the number below it, which includes &#8220;12A650.&#8221; This specific number identifies a set of these types of computers. In this case, it is &#8220;6M81-12A650-DH.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>your car has run into some issues and diagnostics show that you need a Powertrain Control Module, PCM, replacement. You decide to take a look at your engine computer so you can see what needs to be ordered. Unfortunately, there seems to be several numbers on your auto computer. Which number do you use? Ordering the wrong part will lead to a waste of time and money.\u00a0 We\u2019ll show you the location of the correct part number for your Mazda PCM ECM ECU. While it may technically fit your vehicle, it is unlikely to help it get back on the road. The number you truly need is the Calibration Part Number, which is printed on the casing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-body font-regular text-gray-800 leading-[24px] pt-[9px] pb-[2px]\" dir=\"ltr\">For Mazda PCMs, the correct part number always includes &#8220;18 881&#8221; or &#8220;18-881&#8221; in some form. The first four digits of that number are also located near the top as a four-digit code, making it easier to match PCMs. In this case, the four-digit code for our Mazda PCM is &#8220;L3R3,&#8221; and the Mazda PCM part number is &#8220;L3R3 18 881F.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1245 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fs1inc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/SAM_7895-487x365.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"487\" height=\"365\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.fs1inc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/SAM_7895-487x365.jpg 487w, https:\/\/www.fs1inc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/SAM_7895-640x480.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.fs1inc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/SAM_7895.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 487px) 100vw, 487px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The right part number for Mazda PCMs always has \u201c18 881\u201d or \u201c18-881\u201d in the number in some way. The first 4 digits of that number will also be near the top as a 4 digit code to make it easier to match PCMs. In this case, the 4 digit code for our Mazda PCM is \u201cL3R3\u201d and the Mazda PCM part number is \u201cL3R3 18 881F\u201d.<\/p>\n<h4>Alternate Sticker<\/h4>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1246 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fs1inc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/SAM_8665-487x365.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"487\" height=\"365\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.fs1inc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/SAM_8665-487x365.jpg 487w, https:\/\/www.fs1inc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/SAM_8665-640x480.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.fs1inc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/SAM_8665.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 487px) 100vw, 487px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Another type of Mazda PCM will have this number on stickers instead. It will still have a 4 digit code and the part number in the same formation as well. The part number is now &#8220;KL55 18 881C&#8221;, as seen above. In this case, it has that &#8220;18881&#8221; so it is essentially a Mazda\/Ford Part and the actual part number is &#8220;FS8D-18881-B&#8221;. Always remember to check for &#8220;18881&#8221;, &#8220;18 881&#8221;, or &#8220;18-881&#8221; in the number.<\/p>\n<p>Once you find this number, it\u2019s time to search for your replacement PCM.
